Diseases treated by the Movement Disorders Clinic
Movement disorders are characterized by abnormal involuntary movements
which lead to shaking, jerking, or twisting of the involved body parts.
Many of them disturb walking and other functions important for daily
life. They are mostly chronic and progressively disabling. However, the
dazzling advances in genetics, pharmaceutical industry, and surgical
techniques over the last decade have brought new frontiers to their diagnosis
and treatment. Besides education and research, our clinic provides multidisciplinary
expert care, including botulinum toxin
injections (Botox®, Myobloc®) and surgical treatment, for
